Play will be governed by the
Canadian Curling Association Rules for General Play.
Length of Games: - All games shall be eight ends,
including the finals. Extra ends shall be played toward the main
viewing area. Winners of finals are asked to remain at the club until
their picture has been taken.
The schedule is drawn on the basis of two hours for an eight-end game.
In the interest of maintaining time schedules, when a team has run out
of rocks, the game must be terminated. Conceding of games that have been
almost decided is also encouraged.
Reporting Scores: - Winning skips must ensure that the
result of their games are reported to the club representative. To that
purpose you must fill out the score sheets provided, after every game.
Composition of teams: - Each team of players shall be
composed of four men. Minimum age for the Open Division is 19
years of age on the 1st of January of the year of play. A team cannot
commence, nor continue play, with less than 3 players. If a player is
absent the first two players shall play 3 stones each.
Substitution: - A maximum of two substitutes are
permitted for a team in any one game and they may play any position.
Substitutes need not be from the club who entered the team but they must
be persons who have not played for any other team in the current
Bonspiel. Out-of-town teams in need of a substitute may call upon the
Bonspiel Office for any assistance.
Late Starting: - If the delay of the start of play is
1-15 minutes, then the non-offending team receives one (1) point and
will have last stone in the first end of actual play. One end is
considered completed. If the delay of the start of play is 15-30
minutes, then the non-offending team receives one (1) additional point
and will have last stone in the first end of actual play. Two ends are
considered completed. If play has not started after 30 minutes, then the
non-offending team is declared winner by forfeit.
